A bet on the IPL or a few rounds of Aviator should cost what a cinema ticket costs: a fixed amount, decided in advance, spent on entertainment. For most people it stays that way. For some it drifts, and the drift is usually gradual. This page sets out the tools 1Win provides, the signs that betting is becoming a problem, and where to get free, confidential help in India.
Ground rules
- Decide a budget before you log in and treat it as already spent. Never bet with borrowed money or money meant for bills.
- Set a time limit. Live betting and crash games move fast; an evening disappears quickly.
- Do not chase losses. A losing day is normal. Raising stakes to win it back is how small losses become large ones.
- Avoid betting when tired, upset or after drinking.
- Keep betting separate from income. It is not a job or an investment.
- Be open about it. Hiding your betting from family or friends is itself a warning sign.
